New Management has changed the gate code, and the driver can’t deliver mail, or packages. This often occurs when a new owner buys a property that needs a facelift, or they have kicked out several non-paying tenants. If the gate code has changed management needs to not only inform their tenants of the change, but it’s also important to notify logistics personnel of the change if you don’t want a delay in your packages that you have ordered, and have paid for. If there is a key keeper that the Mailman uses to gain access to the mailboxes, and the lock has been changed then the same applies, they must have a new key to be able to enter the property to deliver mail, and packages.

If you’re a new tenant, and you have moved into apartment #104, be sure to put your last name, maiden name, and any last name of anyone who will be residing in the apartment who will be receiving mail, and packages at the apartment, condo, and etc. If you leave the previous residents name in the mailbox, and you wonder why your still receiving their mail, then it’s pretty easy to figure out why, you haven’t put your name inside of the mailbox. Print your name legibly so that the Mailman can clearly see the names of the new residents who are living in your apartment. If your box is broken, notify maintenance to fix the mailbox, because the Mailman will not deliver mail to a broken, or unsecure mailbox.

If you have moved from your previous address, don’t assume that your mail will magically appear at your new address, fill out a change of address form at the Postal Service, and notify your bank, or anyone else that your address has changed. If you need a backup plan, we’re here to help! www.iwantmymail.com

Why do people move? People move to better their life, maybe where they were staying was a rental, and now they have an opportunity to be a homeowner. Schools play a part in a couple’s choice to move, it could be a five-minute move, but because of the zip code where the couple lives, the opportunity for their child to attend a better school, will require the family to move, because they’ll have to pay extra taxes to for their child to attend the school which is only two blocks up the street from where they live currently. So if you move from one zip code, and your new home has a different zip code, it doesn’t matter, you have to submit a change of address if you want to continue to receive your mail, moving in general if you move, it’s important to update your address, because if you don’t your mail can be returned to the sender, then you have to deal with late fees, that could end up ruining your credit, or your credit score.

If you receive a package, and you notice that your address was wrong, for example you live at 2544 Sweetwater Blvd., and the package that you receive has 2444 Sweetwater Blvd., on it then you have to thank your Mail carrier for figuring out the mistake, but at the same time you need to verify with the website that you ordered the item from to make sure that there wasn’t a keyboard error, or typing mistake on your part, because if you don’t correct the error, and you order from the same merchant again, the item could be sent to 2444 Sweetwater Blvd., versus your correct address at 2544 Sweetwater Blvd., and the next time the item could be returned to the sender if your regular carrier is on vacation. IF you move, make sure that you change, and take the correct steps to receive your mail at your new address. www.iwantmymail.com

Names, and numbers matter in the online ordering world. People in this day and age, like to sit in their bedroom, and order items off of the internet instead of going to the grocery store, or shopping mall to retrieve items, it’s the new way of doing business, don’t want to go to the grocery store, you can order your items online on Amazon, and schedule a time for delivery, and someone will pull up in front of your house to drop off all of the items that you ordered from your list. However, if you live in an apartment, and you forget to put your apartment number on your letter, or item that you order online, you could be in a world of trouble, because if it’s the weekend, and the apartment office has closed for the day, and your building has 1000 units, the logistics driver isn’t going to knock on all of the doors to see if you’re the resident who ordered the iPod from the Apple store, you will simply have to call the logistics company who was scheduled to deliver the item the next day depending on the time, or you will have to drive to the location with valid identification to see if you can pickup the item, and normally when you see that there wasn’t an apartment number on the item, then you’ll know why the delivery was delayed, and normally an item of value will require a signature for security purposes to prevent theft, and fraud.

Some people like to use their first name only when ordering an item, and leaving out your last name is going to always be a problem, because if you move your last name is what’s needed on the change of address form to help forward your mail. If you live in an apartment complex where there are 50 people with the first name Greg, then how will they know what apartment that you live in, your last name uniquely identifies who you are. www.iwantmymail.com

Giving the Nanny permission to use your address, sounds kind of cliché, but it happens on a daily basis. Some Nannies find it easier to receive mail, or packages from their respective employers address where they babysit, and run errands for the busy professionals, whom they work for. There are problems that can occur though, such as a package requires a signature, and the item is restricted delivery, meaning that only one individual can sign for the item, and it’s the person that the item is addressed to, and it’s the weekend, and the Nanny has the weekend off, or it could be during the week, and the owner of the house has instructed the Nanny to not answer the door no matter who is knocking at the door, including the Mailman, UPS driver, FedEx driver, and etc. The logistics drivers will knock normally to let the owner know that they have a package, but if they continuously knock it’s because the item, or package requires a signature. The problem with the Nanny trying to retrieve a package is their address on the driver’s license will not match the address to the house where they’re working for the owner, and this can be a red flag, because the driver’s license needs to match the address that is on the package, so the employer will more than likely will have to go to the delivery unit to retrieve the item.

Another problem that occurs is when the owner of the residence decides to move, and the Nanny continues to order items from Amazon, Ebay, Walmart, and etc., but they don’t put in a change of address with the respective owners, nor do they go online to update their accounts, so the items will be returned to the sender, or they even risk being stolen because the Amazon, UPS, FedEx drivers might assume that the name is good at the residence when they have been gone from the residence for more than 1 year. www.iwantmymail.com

Are you wondering why your mail, and packages aren’t being delivered? Residents are often asking this question if they’re waiting on a package, or an important piece of mail, that requires a signature, but the delivery driver, or Mailman never shows up to your apartment complex, condo, and etc., to attempt to deliver the item to your address. There have to be reasons why the item was never attempted, such as, your gate code has changed, and the driver can’t enter inside of your complex without a gate code, the lockbox doesn’t have the key inside so the Mailman can’t enter inside of your building without a key that is needed for access, the property management has changed the gate code to keep an evicted resident from entering inside of the property so the FedEx driver, UPS driver, Amazon driver, Postal employee, and etc., can’t enter the property, because they don’t have access. Logistics drivers will normally wait to see if someone will come out of the apartment complex so that they can attempt to deliver your packages, but if the wait is longer than 5 minutes, depending on their day they normally will continue to proceed to their other deliveries, and normally if you check the status there will be a reason why as to why your item was attempted, but not delivered.

No access means that they attempted to deliver your item, but the driver couldn’t enter your residence because of for example, the gate has malfunctioned, so the driver doesn’t have access, the code has changed, and the driver doesn’t have the new code, there is a dog running around your complex without a leash, and for safety purposes the driver will not get out of the vehicle to attempt to deliver a package with a vicious dog. So if you’re ever wondering why your mail, and packages aren’t being delivered these are just a few of the reasons why.

New apartment complex

The customer can no longer be fooled! What exactly does this mean? Customers can track packages to their exact location, they know when the package arrived, and how long it has been sitting on your dock, and they also know when the package is expected to be delivered, so if the package isn’t delivered, or if it isn’t out for delivery the day that it’s supposed to delivered, they will find the Letter Carrier, UPS driver, FedEx driver, Amazon driver, DHL driver, and etc., and they will show you the delivery details from the merchant where they ordered the product.

Why is this vehicle following my truck? It could be because they need the package for a college project that is due on Monday, and the package was supposed to be delivered on Thursday, and now it’s Saturday so the customer has been calling since Thursday because they know that the package has been sitting on your dock since Wednesday, and they deserve to know when their package will be delivered, it could be formula for a newborn baby, it doesn’t matter, what matters is the customer has paid for a service, and the logistics provider needs to deliver what the customer has paid for.

The days of telling the customer it hasn’t come in yet, or we don’t have the item at our office yet, has gotten old, technology, smart phones, block chain technology, and the ability for merchants to provide more customer friendly technology to track packages from when it leaves their warehouse to be put on the driver’s truck to the delivery to your front door is only going to continue to get better, and whoever consistently provides the better service amongst logistics providers will continue to grow their business, and provide the service that customers want, and that’s getting their product, on the correct date, and expected time of delivery that the merchant published on their website. www.iwantmymail.com

Taking your name out of your mailbox, rolling the dice! Sounds crazy, but people actually do it on a daily basis. You just moved into a new apartment complex, and your Postal Carrier has put a note above your mailboxes, to put your name, and apartment number inside of your mailbox. This is used to help the Postal Carrier to be able to identify you in the event that a package comes to your address with your apartment number on it, or it could be that income tax check that you’re desperately waiting on to cash to help with your bills, and also your shopping needs. If the Postal Carrier figures out that you’re a new resident, and they see a yellow sticker which is an indicator that you’re new to the apartment complex, then normally they will peel the sticker off of the mail, and will apply it to your mailbox to let other Mail carriers know that you happen to be a new resident.

Some reasons why people take their names out of their mailboxes could be to avoid a crazy ex, so you want your privacy, another reason would be to avoid those child support letters that come on a monthly basis if you’re not paying your child support on time. Bill collectors also play a factor, if they don’t know where you live then how can they send you a bill. It gets real when you’re waiting on your income tax check, but the I.R.S. doesn’t know how to reach you because your address is insufficient, so that $10,000 refund that you have waited so desperately for will more than likely will be returned to the sender. You rush to the post office to attempt to see if the Postal carrier still has the letter in their possession only to find out that the letter was returned over 1 week ago. These are examples of what happens when you take you name out of your mailbox.

Why is my relative’s package being returned to the sender? This happens a lot more than one really seems to think that it happens. You have a relative coming to visit you for two weeks, inside of your mailbox you have a label that says, only Johnson & Smith, which means that only the names of Johnson & Smith are to receive mail, or packages at this address, and your spouse has a cousin who comes to visit your home for two weeks of vacation, and their last name is Thompson. If you don’t communicate with your Letter Carrier to inform them that someone is coming to visit, and is expecting a package then the item can be easily be returned to the sender because the last name Thompson isn’t listed in your mailbox as being a resident at your address.

If you’re going to visit a relative out-of-town, and order something on your Amazon, Ebay, or any other type of E-commerce account it’s important that you change your order details once you have returned from your visit, or the items that you order will continue to be shipped to the address that you last entered on your order form, remember the system doesn’t know that your going to be out-of-town for two weeks, but by signing up and using the special instructions tab on www.iwantmymail.com you can accomplish this to alert vendors, and merchants that you will only be receiving items at this address temporarily for two weeks, then after the two weeks have passed, you can update your account for the items to be shipped back to your home of record.

Remember when ordering items to always double-check to make sure that your address is correct, because you can easily hit the wrong key on the keyboard, and the 7 that you meant to type could easily be an 6, or 8. www.iwantmymail.com

Using a first name only to receive a package, sounds like it’s a good idea, but it can cause problems for you whenever you have moved, and you’re trying to receive your mail that needs to be forwarded to your current address. When filling out a change of address with the Postal Service, your first name, as well as last name are always required, along with your street address, city, and state. If you don’t include your last name, then your address will be considered as being insufficient, so if you have an Ebay account, as well as an Amazon account it’s important to always include your last name, because if you move, and you simply have your first name of Ellen, and no last name, then more than likely your item, or package will be returned to the sender, so if you’re wondering why you’re not receiving your mail, or packages, it could be because you forgot to include your last name.

The same applies to sending a package to someone, if you send a package to a relative, or someone who has purchased an item from your Ebay store, then it’s also important to list a return address in the event that the item is returned to you, the sender. If you put down the wrong address, and some people make this mistake, it’s important that you list your first name, along with your last name because your Postal Carrier, or UPS driver, FedEx driver might remember your last name to know where the package might need to be returned to. Printing legibly goes a long way as well, sometimes the number 3 might look like an 8, so taking the time to print names, and numbers legibly could help one in getting a package successfully delivered versus a package being returned due to bad penmanship. www.iwantmymail.com

To catch a package thief, sounds crazy, but if you have security camera, your chances are greatly improved if you’re not at home when the delivery is made. Normally thieves will look for signs that might deter them from stealing a package, such as someone being outside of their home when the delivery is being made, or your next door neighbor mowing their lawn, and etc.

Delivery companies should take the time to hide your package if you’re not at home, leaving the package on your front porch steps, will make it easy for a thief to notice that there is no one home if it sits outside, and they observe that you don’t immediately pickup the item once your doorbell is rung, and there are no cars in your driveway, and the USPS carrier, UPS driver, FedEx driver, DHL driver, Amazon driver, and etc., drives off from your home. The catchy thing about delivery service is now that Uber drivers are coming out in their personal vehicles to deliver packages, so they simply leave the package wherever it’s convenient for them to leave it, without wasting time. Amazon drivers are seen running up to houses to deliver packages, so it’s obvious that their time is being rushed, a driver stated that their routes are 10 hour routes, and if they finish early they can go home, but if there’s a mistake such as one number being off then the neighbor across the street could end up with your package, or if they get on the wrong street, and the numbers match the next street over then you don’t have to call Houston to realize that you have a problem.

Invest in a camera to help deter package theft, if you’re going out-of-town try to order an item when you know that you will be at home. www.iwantmymail.com
