In the new age of the Internet people are beginning to open more home-based businesses around the world. With companies like Ebay, and Amazon, and the emergence of e-commerce people can make an order over the Internet, or sell an item from their home, and print out the shipping label from their computer, and confirm with their preferred logistics company that they have a pickup that needs to be sent out the next day. This level of e-commerce is going to continue to grow because not having to leave your home is appealing to a lot of stay at home Moms who run home based businesses out of their homes, but what happens when you decide to move? Most people seem to think that simply putting in a individual order, or an entire family order will cover their business, but you fail to realize that your business name requires its very own separate change of address that you must fill out in order to receive your mail, or packages. If you fail to update your credit card information with vendors then you risk your items being delivered to your old address, and lets face it everyone isn’t honest, and will not set your item back outside for the Mailman, UPS driver, FedEx driver, and etc., to pickup in the event that there is an error in the delivery, you have to remember that when you have a business, it’s personal, it’s your responsibility to take care of your business, delays could hurt you, and sometimes if there is a problem in a delayed package, or a returned package, the sender on the other end will assume that you’re trying to rip them off, when it was an honest mistake that was made in your moving process. Here at www.iwantmymail.com you can change your address, correct your mistake in real time, your relatives or business associates can do a search if your a registered member, they will not see your address, they will only see your name, and e-mail, or cell phone to contact, and verify that this is indeed you for verification, and business purposes, no matter where you are in the world! Here’s to a great week!

Moving, we all do it at some point in our life, it’s extremely rare for an individual to stay at the same place forever. When we finish high school as individuals we all go in separate directions, some join the military, go to college, get married, or go on our very own individual journey in life, but when we move our mail has to follow us, and taking the necessary steps to make sure that it follows us is something that we must take a responsibility for. The change of address is the standard form for getting the process started through the Postal Service. If you’re moving as an individual it’s important that you fill out the form correctly, because if you make a mistake it could take over one month for the mistake to be corrected. Your name, and address must be correct, so if you do business with a merchant, and they’re not spelling your name correctly it’s very imperative that you notify them to correct the error, because when your mail is forwarded and your name isn’t spelled correctly then your mail will be returned to the merchant, relative, friend, and etc., if your street address isn’t correctly put down, i.e., 5705 Brown Street and you fill the form out as being 5703 Brown Street then you will have a problem getting your mail forwarded to you because of an error, that someone might have mistaken the number 5 for the number 3, human error does occur during this process so it’s important that when you receive your confirmation details to look at them and verify that they’re indeed correct. Individual, family, and business are also important, because if you move as an individual you never want to check off family because you will effect your families mail if you do this. Moving never stops, pay attention to the details when it comes to your mail. Questions or comments feel free to comment on the blog post! Here’s to a great week!

Put your name in your mailbox sounds like a command, but it really isn’t. This can help you to solve issues in regards to receiving your mail, not receiving the past residents mail, and etc. If you live in an apartment, condo, duplex, college dorm, etc., this can be extremely valuable to you because there is often a more higher turnover, and moving rate in these places of occupancy than there are in residential homes that are being bought instead of being rented. Putting your name in your mailbox is valuable because it lets your logistics carrier, or postal employee know that their is a new occupant in the property, and it helps them to not leave a package for the Johnson family, when the new resident is the Sanchez family, it’s important to note that if there are additional family members living in the residence their last names should also be listed on the label to let delivery employees know that there are new people at the residence and to follow the list of names on the label to deliver packages or items only to the address. Customers often complain that the mailman always leaves mail for different people in their mailbox, when often there isn’t a name indicating that someone new is living at the new residence, there is often a policy that the mailman will leave a sign above the boxes that states if you are a new resident, please leave your last names inside of the mailbox. What can really help this problem if the apartment complex will keep an up to date list of new residents, and if they will also give the new residents a label to put inside of their mailbox, this will help to resolve the issue of getting other customers mail being put into their mailboxes, but remember human error sometimes occurs. It’s your mail, please put your name in your mailbox. Questions or comments feel free to comment, my email is iwantmymail24@gmail.com

Marriages don’t always last, and sometimes couples go their separate ways. Mail can sometimes be a problem when people divorce, and sometimes a divorce can make things quite challenging when putting in a order to change your mail to a new address. The mistake that is often made is one of the individuals will put in a change for the entire family, and when this happens all of the mail will be forwarded to the person who puts in the change of address first. The ex-husband, who sometimes will not put in a change will be angry as to why he’s not receiving his bills, or paycheck, and etc. When this happens it’s important that when the house is being sold, that the husband, or the man should put in a individual order, so that his mail will be forwarded to his new address, and the ex- wife needs to put in an change of address order in her maiden name, as well as her spouses last name in order to receive mail, and depending on if they have children old enough to receive mail, they need to receive change of address forms as well to cut out the confusion, and receive their mail at the appropriate address as well. It’s important to note that after 10 days the Postal Service can return all of your mail to the sender if you have moved, and you have failed to submit a change of address form, so it’s very important to take care of submitting this form as soon as possible, even if you’re considering a separation instead of a divorce initially. Here at www.iwantmymail.com you have the power to enter your information, and correct it whenever necessary, creating an account is free, and your information is always protected.

Home Alone…

Everyone loves to take a vacation from time to time. During spring break most families take a vacation, go on a cruise, go to an amusement park, and etc. In todays smart phone craze we tend to want to order things online, and have them sent to our homes while we’re on vacation, but what happens when the package is dropped on the porch, and left home alone, and there’s no relatives there to pick it up? In today’s world of ordering packages online thieves often look for signs when it comes to items being dropped of at our homes. Are there any cars there, what time do you normally get home from work, do you have a security camera, are your neighbors home, and are they outside, can they walk up on your porch, and ring the doorbell to see if you’re at home? Is there a car, or truck that is following the USPS driver, UPS driver, FedEx driver, DHL driver, Amazon driver, and etc., if this is happening chances are the individual or persons following the vehicles are often up to no good, and looking for the opportunity to steal your items. If you live in a neighborhood get to know your neighbors, some neighborhoods have a neighborhood watch association, and they have someone that drives the neighborhood looking for suspicious activity. Let your neighbor know that you’re expecting a package, and if they see it being dropped off, ask them to get the item, and to hold it for you until you return from vacation, or home from work for the day. Most logistics carriers will now email you when your order has been delivered so technology will continue to improve, but thieves will always look for opportunities to steal packages looking for something that they feel will be valuable. Remember, your package doesn’t have to be home alone, someone can be there to pick it up in the event that you’re gone.

Spelling really does make a difference when it comes to your mail. If you misspell your name, or if a merchant doesn’t correctly spell your name correctly when you have moved, it can really be a nightmare when you’re trying to receive your mail, it could be an income tax check, college transcripts that you have been waiting for, separation pay from the military, and your name is spelled incorrectly, or the street that you lived on formerly isn’t spelled correctly, then you wonder why you haven’t received what you have ordered on Amazon, Ebay, etc., and the answer is quite simple, a letter was left off of your name, and now that forwarding order that you submitted is giving you nightmares. An example is John Gibson 175 Story Lane Jacksonville, TX 75766, and you place an order on Amazon.com and the merchant enters your address as: John Gipson 175 Story Lane Jacksonville, TX 75766, it looks like almost right, but Gibson, isn’t the same as Gipson, so now you have a problem, when you’re mail needs to be forwarded, if your letter carrier doesn’t fix the spelling error, then more than likely the item will be returned to the sender once they attempt it and the item comes back as not having a good forwarding order, but normally if your carrier knows you they can catch, and correct the mistake, unfortunately other logistical companies don’t always get to know their customers on a personal basis, because the Postal Service delivers mail, Monday-Saturday, and Amazon packages on Sundays, so they tend to see their customers more often than once a week, or whenever the logistical company of choice is delivering an item that you ordered. Human error also plays a huge factor, so if your handwriting is hard to read, it’s probably better for you to print in a legible manner so that you can receive your item if you have moved, or if you’re the new resident. Updating your information no matter where you are in the world can be done here at www.iwantmymail.com if you make a mistake you can also change it in real time at no cost.

At some point in time of our life we will all have to move. What do I mean by that? Well we graduate from high school, and leave home to go to college, join the military, get married, move to another city, or country for a job opportunity, and etc. If you move, your mail should be able to follow you, and here at www.iwantmymail.com we’re here to provide you with solutions regarding your move. Sometimes due to the excitement of our move we often forget to put in a forwarding order to change our address to our new location, or destination, and then we wonder why we aren’t receiving our important mail, or packages that we have ordered from various merchants. The answer is quite simple, we haven’t changed our address, nor have we notified our family members of our new address, so your item that you have ordered off of Amazon, or Ebay is shipped to our former address, and we wonder why it was returned to the sender, and if you want the item you have to contact the merchant to tell them why it was returned, and the merchant has to reship the item to you, and they have to recharge you for the shipping because the item was returned depending on the circumstances, and who they shipped the item through. Here at www.iwantmymail.com you can update your information anytime, anywhere that you might be in the world, and you can also go into the Present/Past Residents page, and update that you’re the present resident, and you can also fill in the information of the former resident, and can put down how long that they have been gone, so that you will not receive their mail anymore to reduce the hassle of receiving their mail. Let’s be honest everyone isn’t honest, some people throw important mail in the trash, with this feature hopefully credit card merchants, will be able to better their services by using our service, and etc. If you move into a house, condo, apartment, it doesn’t matter, you should always put your name, and all of the residents who will be receiving mail into your box, so that your mailman can see who lives at your residence, and can improve the accuracy of your mail.

Here at www.iwantmymail.com we’re always thinking of you the customer, so with that being said we’re proud to introduce the feature called special instructions.

  • Perhaps you might have young children at home, and you don’t want anyone ringing your doorbell between the hours of 7a.m.-3p.m., because the children are taking a nap throughout the day, and they don’t want to be disturbed.
  • Perhaps you’re disabled, and it takes you longer to get to the door than an individual who isn’t disabled, this feature will work for you as well.

The special instructions feature can be found on the registration page of the website, it’s free to use, and you can update it when it’s convenient for you.

  • If you prefer that your packages are hidden behind the gate this feature can also be used to let your delivery merchants to have the information in regards to where you prefer your packages to be left in the event that you might not be home until later on in the evening.
  • For military members, perhaps you might possibly be deployed, and your credit card company isn’t aware of your status, this feature can be used to let them know that you’re away from your duty station, and it might take longer than expected to receive your mail, so that the service member will not be charged unnecessary fees, and will be granted a grace period to pay their bills.
  • Special instructions can also be used to let delivery merchants know that you’re a day sleeper, and you prefer not to be disturbed during  the hours of 7a.m.-4p.m., and I’m sure that no one wants to be disturbed when you’re trying to get that much needed rest.  Special instructions can also be used to let individuals, or companies who solicit door-to-door to know that you don’t want junk mail, or flyers being left at your residence.
Have you ever received a letter, or even a large envelope that appears to have a sharpie that has marked through it on the bar code at the bottom, or top of the envelope?  This is done so that the letter, or magazine can be pointed back in the right direction.  A letter mailed in Miami, with a destination of Miami, can sometimes take up to a week to deliver if the wrong bar code is entered, or the sender doesn’t put in the correct zip code, so if the sender is unsure about the zip code, or street name it’s best to try to contact the individual before sending the package, or letter, and etc.
Questions have been asked regarding the Special instructions features on the registration page of the website.  So I will go into detail regarding this feature of the website, www.iwantmymail.com  Special instructions are for individuals who might have young children at home who are sleeping, or taking a nap during the day, and the user simply enters in the special instructions box for example:  Children sleeping, please don’t ring doorbell during the hours of 7a.m.-3p.m., this information will help logistical carriers to realize not to ring the customers doorbell, but to simply knock on the door gently to not awake the children.  A person who is disabled, or elderly might take longer to get to the door, so they can enter into the special instructions feature that they’re disabled and it might take longer to get to the door, this feature can help a logistical company deliver a package versus leaving a notice, not knowing that the customer is inside of the house, and the logistical company saves money, and time on fuel having to return to redeliver an item that if they knew that if they would have waited an extra 30 seconds, the delivery could have been made.
All businesses don’t open at the same time, so businesses can use the feature to let logistical companies know what time that they’re open during the week, or if they’ll be closing earlier for a company function such as a Christmas party, or training event.  This can help a customer going to the business to pick up a package save time if they know that the business will be closing an hour earlier because of a special event versus driving 30 minutes, and not receiving the item that you drove across town to receive.  Most logistical companies don’t necessarily look at the time that the business opens, when they have the item, they’re simply doing their job to deliver a service, but this feature can help save time, if the logistical company will be able to see what time the business is opening instead of making a wasted trip not knowing that the business is opening two hours later than normally scheduled.
Special instructions can help military members as well, who might be deployed, and are out at sea, or stationed somewhere in the world where access to  mail may quite take longer to receive than normal, and this service can relay the message to the sender that the member could possibly be deployed in a war zone, so it relays the message to the credit card company that the service member might not be able to have access to the internet to make a payment, or the ability to receive mail because of the dangerous location of their position for a two week time period, this can essentially relay the message to credit card companies not to charge the service member late fees in the event that the service member is ever facing this type of scenario.
Theft is also a major issue during this time period, and the special instructions tab can be used for a customer to enter to leave my package on the side porch versus the front porch, because it’s secure, and strangers can’t see the side porch from the street, or they could enter that to leave the item behind the fence, there aren’t any dogs, but one must  listen and use commonsense in the event that a barking dog is heard behind the gate.
Special instructions can be updated, or changed at anytime 24/7, this feature is customer, and business friendly, it’s purpose is to make service better between the customer, and the logistical companies, or any registered member of www.iwantmymail.com.

With the holiday season being officially over, the new thing that seems to be taking place after all of the talk of packages being stolen off of porches is ordering packages, and having them sent to your job, or place of business, individuals at banks are doing it, babysitters who work out of individuals homes are doing it, and etc.  This is actually a very good, and safe idea, as long as the business doesn’t mind, or the family that you’re working for doesn’t mind having an employee ordering items that will be shipped to their address.  The problem that this can cause is what happens when an employee quits, or is terminated, and they don’t change their address information when they have transitioned to a new job, or they have relocated to another city, and they haven’t went into Ebay, PayPal, or any other merchant that they order items from online.  They move, and they submit a change of address from their home, but they don’t do it for their business that they worked at, and had their packages coming to, and no one knows where they have relocated to.  This is a serious problem, and they pay for an item that they will never receive, unless they contact their former employer, and they hold the item until they can come back to pick up the merchandise, but if a new employee on the job receives it, and they see the name they will more than likely say that they don’t know the individual, so send the item back to the sender, and now you have paid shipping for an item that you will never receive, and FedEx, UPS, Amazon, and all of the other delivery merchants will have to return the item to the merchant because you don’t have accurate information on file.  Some mailboxes have only deliver the Jones family, and if a logistics person is delivering a package, or a letter carrier is delivering mail, and they don’t know who the unfamiliar name is, then more than likely they will follow protocol, and not deliver the package that is addressed to Smith, when it says the Jones family only.  Communication, and keeping your information up to date is the key, on www.iwantmymail.com you can accomplish all of these goals, no matter where you move, how often you move, and whomever you might have working for you that might receive items at your address, or place of business, 24/7/365.
